Quickstart tutorial 4-How to update simulation settings
Introduction
Simulation settings define the conditions and behaviors for a process or task during a simulation.
You can update the settings for a simulation in a number of ways. You have already set the simulation preferences, which provided the default values when you created your simulation snapshot. (Remember that you modified the simulation preferences by clicking Window > Preferences and then selecting Business Modeling > Simulation.) You can update those default values within the snapshot, so that any new simulation profiles that you create will inherit those updates. Those updated settings take precedence over the initial simulation preferences.
Within each simulation profile, you can also update the settings for the process that you are simulating, or for individual tasks within that process.
These low-level settings will only be applied to the current simulation profile, and will not be carried over to any new simulation profiles that you create.
- Updating snapshot settings for simulations
Simulation snapshot settings are contained in the provided default values for any new simulation profiles that you create within an existing simulation snapshot.
- Updating process settings for simulations
Process settings define conditions and behaviors for a process as a whole during a simulation run. You can update settings for a specific process simulation without overriding your preferences or snapshot settings.
- Updating task settings for simulations
You can update settings for specific tasks within a process without affecting the rest of the tasks and elements within the simulation.
