How to add attributes to a resource definition

Introduction

Resource definition attributes are the characteristics that are common to all of the resources that you create using that definition.

Any number of resources can be created using a single resource definition, and each individual resource will share a common set of attributes that were defined in the resource definition.

For example, a Company Vehicle resource definition might have attributes such as Licence Number and Vehicle Type. Any resource created using the Company Vehicle resource definition, such as Delivery Truck No. 3 or Vice-President's Leased Auto, would inherit those same attributes.

The resource definition provides the basic set of characteristics for your resources so that you only have to create those attributes once, instead of creating them for every resource.
