How to create a data catalog

Introduction

A data catalog is a container where you can store your business item templates, business items, and business item instances.

 
You can set up your data catalogs in any way that makes sense for your organization or business. A large company might choose to create several data catalogs to store business items that are used in different departments. Alternatively, you could choose to group your business items according to a corresponding process. For Quickstart Finance, you will create a single data catalog to hold the business items relating to the loans process.

How to create a data catalog

Add a data catalog called Loans.


Step 1

 

In the Project Tree, right-click the Business Items folder and select New > Data Catalog.
 
 

Step 2

 

  1. Enter name of new data catalog (i.e Loans).
  2. Click Finish
 
 

Step 3

 

The Loans data catalog is created in the Project Tree, as in the image on the right.
